Withhold from corporations shaped by the fourteenth amendment
Constellations of interstate commerce form a new doctrine
Protecting public health
These laws vow to regulate citizenship and safety
Privileges and immunities or "miss ties and privilege unit m"
"M" stands for meters
Meters, kilometers, miles can't and won't measure these cases
They can't and will not measure a person's equality
No math can measure
Nor can a parchment of paper
constitute equal rights
It should be known
We are and always have been equal

She Couldn't Do It

She barely could make it
Her lips quivered, trembling with doubt
She couldn't do it as much as she tried
She couldn't leave them
They were her home
Somewhere
Maybe, she would found a place for herself
But right now she needed them
Has she grown
Perhaps not
Perhaps she is afraid to leave her bubble
Perhaps she is afraid to live
Perhaps she isn't even alive

Lie After Lie

Lie after countless lie
I believed
When the truth was told
Denied
I didn't see it coming
I want to trust you
I do
But lie after lie
I promise
 I'll be your friend
If you can be mine
Just remember

My Enemy

His breath was inches away

His prickly beard brushed against my gentle skin

I wanted to escape

I did

Because at that moment I recognized him flawless in my memories

My enemy

The one who killed my dad

Hugging me

I couldn’t

I wouldn’t

But there I was hugging him back

The Phone Call

She waited for the phone call

Waited and waited

The phone rang

But who was there?

Who was she waiting for?

She answered the phone

They were coming at 6pm

Wait, what time were they coming?

Too late

They hung up

Click- click

Redialing the number

Who is this?

Oh it’s my daughter

Why did you call?

I called?

Goodbye

She sits on the couch

 Waiting and waiting

There is empty silence weighing on repeat

She picks up the phone again…

Build This City

She thrives to build this city of conquered variations of continuity
Trying to anchor tranquility through out sheep like motions
She doesn't try to find herself but she did in those lost hopeless nights
Giving all her love to all but not forgetting herself
Sometimes she wants to let go
Trying to see the sanity that she needs to go on
She makes mountains of mistakes 
Only to find mountains of accomplishments and hope
Often she wanders of those who leave her
And wishes them the best
She holds onto those that care for her
And puts every inch of breath to be there for them
Sometimes she often wishes if there was another way
But the earth keeps spinning
And time keeps going
