Unsettling attempt to see the good in those that don't see any at all

I used to be that way too

Back when I didn't know

Giving, trying to lead a life of perfection

But failing

There is no perfection

I see the good in most people

Back when I didn't know

I would give my whole world to certain people

Back when I didn't know

I gave up my everything

Just to see someone who I loved smile

Losing hold of myself

I forgot to take care of myself

But sometimes I still do forget

Back when I didn't know I wasn't alone

That I shouldn't give up when times are hard

I should keep going 

And not only see the good in other people

But also in myself

In life 

Even when no one understands

You understand yourself
